Wolfpack Adds Power and Versatility with the Signing of Andrew Poor Bear

The Four Winds Wolfpack are proud to officially welcome Andrew “Drew” Poor Bear, a 6’6 forward whose combination of size, athleticism, and skill will make him a key addition to the program.

Drew is known for his tremendous rebounding ability, consistently controlling the glass on both ends of the court. His explosive athleticism allows him to finish strong in transition, defend multiple positions, and elevate above defenders at the rim. Beyond his physical gifts, Andrew’s smooth shooting range gives him the versatility to stretch the floor and keep defenses honest.

But Drew brings more than basketball to the Wolfpack. He grew up on Pine Ridge until the 8th grade, before moving to Chicago, where he continued his high school and AAU career. Now, he is returning to his roots—driven by a desire to invest in his community and inspire the next generation of Native youth.

Head Coach Shaun Little Horn praised both Andrew’s abilities and his character:

“Andrew has all the tools to be special. He plays with energy, toughness, and skill that fits perfectly into the culture we’re building. He’s not just going to impact games with his rebounding and athleticism—he’s the type of player who makes everyone around him better.”

At Four Winds, basketball is only one part of the mission. The program is deeply committed to community engagement, empowering players to serve as leaders and role models off the court. Andrew’s choice to come back and represent his people speaks volumes about his values and aligns perfectly with the Wolfpack vision.

Wolfpack Nation can look forward to seeing Drew suit up this season and bring his relentless motor, versatility, and competitive spirit to the floor—while also helping to build bridges between basketball and community.
