Wolfpack Adds Power and Versatility with the Signing of Andrew Poor Bear

The Four Winds Wolfpack are proud to officially welcome Andrew “Drew” Poor Bear, a 6’6 forward whose combination of size, athleticism, and skill will make him a key addition to the program.

Drew is known for his tremendous rebounding ability, consistently controlling the glass on both ends of the court. His explosive athleticism allows him to finish strong in transition, defend multiple positions, and elevate above defenders at the rim. Beyond his physical gifts, Andrew’s smooth shooting range gives him the versatility to stretch the floor and keep defenses honest.

But Drew brings more than basketball to the Wolfpack. He grew up on Pine Ridge until the 8th grade, before moving to Chicago, where he continued his high school and AAU career. Now, he is returning to his roots—driven by a desire to invest in his community and inspire the next generation of Native youth.

Head Coach Shaun Little Horn praised both Andrew’s abilities and his character:

“Andrew has all the tools to be special. He plays with energy, toughness, and skill that fits perfectly into the culture we’re building. He’s not just going to impact games with his rebounding and athleticism—he’s the type of player who makes everyone around him better.”

At Four Winds, basketball is only one part of the mission. The program is deeply committed to community engagement, empowering players to serve as leaders and role models off the court. Andrew’s choice to come back and represent his people speaks volumes about his values and aligns perfectly with the Wolfpack vision.

Wolfpack Nation can look forward to seeing Drew suit up this season and bring his relentless motor, versatility, and competitive spirit to the floor—while also helping to build bridges between basketball and community.

Gilbert White Jr. Commits to the Pack

The Four Winds Wolfpack continue to build momentum heading into their second season, and their latest addition is  another big one. Rapid City Central’s standout guard, Gilbert White Jr., has officially committed to join the Wolfpack.

White Jr. proved himself as one of the most dominant players in South Dakota during his senior season. He led all Class AA schools in scoring, averaging 21.8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game, while consistently delivering in high-pressure moments. His performance earned him First Team All-State honors, a spot as a South Dakota Mr. Basketball finalist, and invitations to both the South Dakota All-Star Game and the Lakota All-Star Game.

While his elite athleticism often grabs headlines, it’s his skill and creativity with the ball in his hands that truly set him apart. His scoring versatility — whether pulling up off the dribble, attacking the rim, or creating space against bigger defenders — makes him a matchup nightmare. Add in his defensive instincts and competitiveness, and he’s the type of guard who can control every possession.

Head Coach Shaun Little Horn sees Division 1 potential in his newest recruit:

“From the moment I watched Gilbert play, I knew he was a future Division 1 player. His athleticism and skill are elite, but it’s his hunger and work ethic that set him apart. Our mission is to develop him into the best version of himself while being part of a championship program and culture. ”

The Wolfpack, who posted 32 wins in their inaugural season, continue to draw national attention by pairing hungry young prospects with a proven system built on toughness, discipline, and opportunity. White Jr. His combination of production, polish, and upside make him a centerpiece addition as Four Winds prepares for a  demanding schedule against NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA teams.

For White Jr., the commitment represents more than basketball — it’s a chance to grow within a program that emphasizes leadership, education, and community. The Wolfpack regularly host camps, leadership programs, and outreach events, creating an environment where players impact both the court and the communities they represent.

“When we sat down as a staff, we knew we needed to add a few things as we got ready to take another step up in competition,” Coach Shaun said. “Tyson checks a couple of those really important boxes. Wolfpack Wrapped up basketball camp at Todd County Middle School

This past week, the Four Winds Wolfpack staff and players wrapped up a powerful two-day basketball camp at Todd County Middle School, bringing the energy, knowledge, and heart that defines our program — and thanks to our partnership with Big Baller Brand (BBB), every camper walked away not just with skills, but with gear they earned through effort.

We had over 110 young athletes from grades 3-8 come through the gym, ready to learn and grow. Day one focused on our 3rd-5th graders, and day two welcomed in the 6th-8th crew. From the moment the first basketball hit the hardwood, it was clear these kids came to work. Our sessions focused on fundamentals, discipline, footwork, and having fun, all while being pushed by our collegiate-level players and staff.

What makes these camps special isn’t just the drills or the gear — it’s the connection. These camps are about more than basketball. They’re about building confidence, creating opportunity, and giving back to the communities that raised us. Our players don’t just coach – they mentor, inspire, and lead by example.

The BBB gear? That’s more than a shirt or a pair of shorts. It’s a badge of pride. A reminder that they earned something by showing up, putting in the work, and believing in themselves.

To every camper: you are part of our Wolfpack family now. Keep grinding. Stay humble. Stay hungry.

And to Todd County: wopila tanka. Thank you for welcoming us into your gym and into your hearts. This is just the beginning.

Wolfpack Complete their First Camp of the Summer

This past weekend, the Four Winds Wolfpack hosted another powerful session of basketball development—and the energy in the gym was undeniable. A total of 37 players showed up, hungry to grow their game and take another step toward their dreams. They were joined by our dedicated Wolfpack coaching staff and several current players who stepped in to help lead drills and share wisdom from their own journeys.

Each camper received free gear, courtesy of our partnership with Big Baller Brand and our ongoing commitment to making sure our players feel seen, supported, and suited up like champions.

On the court, we focused on three essential moves that are part of every high-level player’s toolkit:

  • The Euro Step – learning to change direction and finish through traffic.

  • The Stepback – creating space for clean jumpers under pressure.

  • The Wade Hop – building balance and rhythm for fluid scoring.

The intensity was real, but so was the laughter, support, and camaraderie that makes these camps more than just basketball. For many of these athletes, this is the beginning of something greater—a chance to grow as players, students, and leaders.

Missed this one? Don’t worry. We’re back at it again next Saturday. Spots are still open, and each camp is a chance to level up your game, connect with our program, and earn your place among the Pack.

Pine Ridge’s Kenny Pulliam Commits to Four Winds After Standout Performance at All-West

The Four Winds Wolfpack just got tougher. Kenny Pulliam, a standout guard/forward hybrid from the Pine Ridge Thorpes, has officially committed to Four Winds following an impressive showing at the All-West tournament.

Four Winds Head Coach Shaun Little Horn stepped in to coach the Pine Ridge players during the event at request of the Thropes head Coach Casey Means. It didn’t take long for Pulliam to leave a strong impression. After watching him up close, Coach Little Horn extended an offer — one that Pulliam soon after accepted.

“Kenny fits exactly what we need,” said Coach Little Horn. “Last season being our inaugural season, we just had to sign the best overall players we could find. The benefit of year two is you’re not building a whole roster from scratch — you’re filling crucial needs. Kenny fits that perfectly with his toughness.”

Pulliam made his presence known at the All-West tournament, impacting every game with his relentless effort and physicality. Whether it was battling on the boards or defending in the post, he set the tone in every matchup.

“I was so impressed with just how hard and physical he played,” Little Horn said. “He really disrupted opposing teams’ big men with his toughness.”

Last season, many teams tried to counter Four Winds’ size and strength in the paint by going small, hoping to neutralize the Wolfpack’s advantage in the post. With Pulliam’s versatility, that adjustment just got a lot harder.

“Having Kenny allows us to have a guard on the floor who can match up with any type of player — big or small,” said Little Horn. “He gives us the ability to stay big without sacrificing mobility or defense on the perimeter. That’s a huge addition for us.”

Despite winning 32 games in their inaugural season, the expectation is that Four Winds will be even better next year. With the addition of impact players like Kenny Pulliam — who bring grit, versatility, and a fearless edge — the Wolfpack are quickly emerging as the premier team in Tribal College basketball.

“Michael is a true competitor with the ability to score at all levels, and he brings an element of physicality that fits well with our team’s toughness and identity,” said Wolfpack Head Coach Shaun Little Horn.

Four Winds University is thrilled to announce the commitment of former JUCO All-American Cecelio Montgomery to the Wolfpack basketball team for the 2024-2025 season. Cecelio joins the Wolfpack with a remarkable track record but also a renewed hunger.

The Rapid City, S.D., native has proven himself to be a dynamic scorer and a playmaker, making him an ideal fit for the Wolfpack’s high-scoring offense.

“Our offensive system is built around having at least seven guys averaging double figures because when one of us eats, we all eat,” said Shaun Little Horn, Head Coach of the Wolfpack. “Cecelio is a tremendous asset to our program—not only does he fit perfectly into our defensive system, but he’s also another one of those players who can go for 30+ on any night.”
