High School

As a junior, Cuevas played a key role for the White River Tigers, helping lead the team to an impressive 21-3 record. As a result, He earned a spot on the 2022 Lakota Times All-Star Third Team.

In his senior year, Cuevas transferred to Lakota Tech, where he continued to excel. He was selected to compete in two  postseason events: the Lakota All-Star Game and the Battles of the Plains All-Star Game.

Freshman Season

Mike Janis had a historic freshman season at Four Winds University, establishing himself as one of the top players in all of Tribal college basketball. He averaged 25.1 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, finishing the year with 1,003 total points. He recorded 22 double-doubles and the Tribal College Basketball Network ranked him as the No. 10 overall player in the nation and the top freshman in all of tribal college basketball, while also naming him to the TCBN All-Tribal Team.

High School/Post High School

Graduated from Sequim High School in Washington. After high school, he played two seasons with the Port Angeles Rams before COVID ended the season.
